Lonely Gimmick, released their second single ‘Pessimistic Weather’ on the 25th April, following the success of their debut track, ‘Beats 1’. Pessimistic Weather, is a commentary on political disharmony, written before the corona virus pandemic, inspiration is drawn from Brexit and climate change. With a boom bap beat, and bedroom pop vibes. The anonymous Lonely Gimmick, has not published their image, gender, sexuality or race in order to make it all about the music, in the time where the image can often be larger than the music. This will prove no issue for Lonely Gimmick as their music speaks for itself, having had comparisons drawn to Interpol, No Vacation and Beach House, there seems to be a bright future for this project, with fantastic lyrics, and dream like guitars, Lonely Gimmick is one to watch.
